Email Detectives

Email Detectives has been designed to introduce learners to electronic mail through the use of an innovative and extremely realistic simulated email environment. This means that the essential skills and knowledge required to use an email program can be taught and learned, without learners ever needing to connect to the Internet – making it 100% safe.

The CD-ROM contains ten interactive tutorials covering all key email skills, including sending and receiving messages, using an email address book, opening and adding file attachments and sending carbon copies. The tutorials are suited to all learners, irrespective of reading ability, as all text is fully narrated, and the carefully designed interface ensures that skills learned can be easily transferred to a real email application.

As well as the tutorials, learners take part in an exciting adventure, in which their task is to solve the mystery of Webble Valley where a series of dangerous gas explosions has been threatening the normally peaceful community. This scenario gives a context in which to practise using email and demonstrates the benefits and advantages of its use in everyday situations.
